功績を誇り学問をひけらかす人々は、人間としての価値を外面にだけ求めている。本来備わっているまことの心さえ失わなければ、たとい功績や学問はなくても、それだけで立派な人間として生きていけることを理解していない。

本来備わっている真の心。

素直さを守り、世間の悪意から自身の心や尊厳と戦う。

功績や誇りや学問で価値は高まるとは思うが、それ以外のステータスも備えることは君子の条件といえよう。

犯罪に立ち向かう検事が不道徳な行為を行ったり、税金の再分配を行う議員たちが脱税をする。

別に肩書がなくとも、話をした時に「この人からは学ぶことが多い」と思われるような人物に己を育てていくことが、人生のテーマとしてふさわしい。

他者の気持ちを理解でき寄り添い、自分の素直な心も死ぬまで持ち続けることができれば立派な君子ではないだろうか。
